One two-month journey circling the Land Down Under was terminated days after the tragic passing of an senior lady who was left behind by the cruise liner on a distant island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with shipmates from the vessel, but broke off from the party for a rest. The liner departed without her and came back later that day after the crew discovered the woman was not present.

An extensive hunt located her body the next day.

The offspring of the victim said that her loved ones was "stunned and grieved that the vessel left the location after an planned tour without my mum".
